About Biblical MEN IN TRAINING:
This group is for MEN IN TRAINING ages 6 through 16 and their fathers or father figures!
This group actively engages in raising Godly and Biblical men. Believing more is caught than taught, the group will get together monthly for a fun activity in combination with a Biblical study. Topics to be discussed will include lessons of showing up, real world vs virtual/fake world, real manliness vs machismo, protecting the vulnerable, dying to ones self, following the call, sticking with your decisions, and others.
Some sample scriptural lessons that will be taught:
1 Corinthians 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love.
1 Timothy 6:11 But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Samuel 22 David departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam. And when his brothers and all his father's house heard it, they went down there to him. 2 And everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was bitter in soul,[a] gathered to him.
Calendar of events is still being built, but planning to do:
Nerf gun war with dads and sons. Teaching our sons that we are called upon to put on the full armor of God and battle not just physical enemies but enemies unseen. Humility, self-control, protection, provision, and leadership are the man’s responsibilities and his tools.
Shoreline cleanup or other cleanup. Jesus Christ is a perfect example of biblical masculinity. He was resilient in the pursuit of God, gentle in spirit and humble in service to others. Teaching the boys about actual work and what can be done when men stand together. Learning steadfastness through the time of working together and seeing the results in the real world vs virtual world.
Fishing. Teaching about being fishers of men. Being called on to share the Gospel with others. Knowing the gentle calm of just sitting and sharing time together. Sharing time with the Lord in nature to commune with God.
Also looking to other fathers in the Group to create ideas and contribute to discussion and developing this ministry.
